Finished Album Artwork/poster

This is the finished magazine poster for our music video, it had been completely redone since our first effort. we decided to make it black and white to conform to the genre and the picture of the instruments plays directly into that aspect of live performance which a lot of indie bands address in their album artwork.

we have used the 'itunes' logo and names like 'Kerrang' to add a professional look to the poster because these are what would make you want to buy it if you'd never heard of the band before.

Digipak Final Product

This is our Finished Digipak front cover, we decided to go out and take new pictures designed for the print products. This product is in keeping with the typical Indie Genre Conventions. we felt that using guitars and other instruments was conforming to the genre instead of our first draft which used screens from the video.

We used a music practice room because it fits well with the kind of band that Feeder are. We made the front cover black & white because we gathered from our research that Feeder don't really have a trend with their album covers so we decided to use a simp
le picture and add the Feeder logo to make it look professional.


After completing the front cover of our digipak we then decided to re-edit the inside cover keeping the same image but adding a water effect and the album songs, we felt doing this would not only look eye catching and effective but it will look more authentic having the album name and songs included.

Here is our first draft for our dvd digipak, through audience feedback and advice from our teacher we have decided not to use this product. the images on either side of the dvd do not blend well and the whole image looks ruff and not adequate for our dvd. We took these images straight off our video, so they were not posed, we felt looking through research that our genre, demands more use of iconography from music such as instruments and studio setting.
This picture did not feature the main character or the lead singer of the band, not in keeping with the typical conventions of the Indie genre.

Evaluation of our performance

Over the course of our production there are many areas which i feel we could have bettered oursleves. The majority of the filming was done within the last two to three weeks of the time we were given to film and edit. Had we have utilised our time better i think the production would have run a lot smoother.

However there were things i think we worked particularly well with like the editing stage.

Evalaution of Print Products

The conventions of a Print Product are: A good print product needs to be appealing to the audience, include pictures of the artists, relevant information depending on the type of product i.e in our print product we created a magazine article where we included release dates screen shots of the video and retailers where the pack is being sold.

For our DVD cover we chose to use screen shots of the video. The front cover is a shot of the birds flying off the lake, this is both effective in catching the audience's eyes. Whereas the back is a picture of the band - live performance - this is keeping with the indie genre, the DVD shows the mixture between the live performance aspect and the drama apsects.

The inside cover of the DVD shows Ben and Connie looking accross the Lake with the sun setting, this is effective because it shows the couple 'Feeling a Moment' which is linking with the strong lyrical structure of the song.
